Fried cod
Swedish fried cod is a classic with a crispy golden surface and juicy,
mild fish fillet. Perfect as an everyday dish and loved by both children
and adults, it is often served with potatoes, lemon and a fresh sauce.
Ingridients
- 1 fish fillet
- Salt and pepper
- 2–3 tsp all-purpose flour
- 1 small egg
- 3–4 tsp breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp butter or oil, for frying
- Lemon wedge for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the fish: Pat the fillet dry and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- Bread the fish
- Cook the fish, Heat butter or oil in a small skillet over medium heat, Fry the fillet 3–4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
- Serve, Plate with a lemon wedge and your choice of side, such as potatoes or a small salad.
